Clear and clean lines on the sports floor complete any sports hall. It provides overview in playing fields, safety and a professional appearance.

Each indoor sport has its own rules for lines: in color, size and position. In game rooms, physical therapy or multipurpose rooms, fantasy lines also occur. We provide sports floor lining with good adhesion and proper skid resistance so athletes can play safely.

When is new lines on the sports floor needed?

Over time, the top layer of the sports floor wears down due to intensive use. When the sports floor lines also fade, it requires re-lining. An adjustment in the rules of sports associations also sometimes requires adjustment of the lines.

Safety is paramount when applying sports floor lines. Lines that are too thick or the wrong types of paint can create hazards and increase the risk of, for example, slipperiness with falls. Never use tape on the sports floor as lines.

What will change for new sports halls and lines?

Newly constructed sports halls and sports floors are subject to new conditions for the playing field with lineation, exit space and siding as of 01-01-2025.

These are the most important conditions:

  • The sports floor in sports halls must be large enough because of the run-out space required. For elite sports, a larger walkout applies than for amateur sports, and for Badminton, the walkout space has been adjusted from 1 to 1.5 meters.
  • The contrast between the different field lines should be sufficient with respect to each other and also with respect to the floor.
  • Crossing lines of fields of the same sport may not be the same color.
  • Parallel lines should be at least 5 cm apart or one line width apart and they should not overlap.
  • The order of lineation is from large to small.
